Shaun + Stermer

You Have Questions?

Are you getting married?
Yes.

Is this a gay wedding?
No.
Since June, we can now just call it a regular wedding, although a very low key, non-traditional one.

Are you having a big ceremony?
Nah.
We're just doing a small city hall ceremony, followed by the party that's for everyone.

Did you say party?
That's right!
We're closing out a local bar to celebrate. We're excited to get everyone we know and love all in one place. They'll be food, an open bar, a backyard with a fireplace and a taco truck. There will however be no chicken dance, bouquet toss, best men, or a cake with two little grooms on top.

Will there be food?
Yup.
It's just not a classic sitdown white table cloth affair.

Are either of you changing your last name?
No.
But for legal reasons, Pretzel's last name is now officially MacStermer.

So are you guys going to be husband and husband?
Hmm. That sounds weird.
Let's just go with us being spouses.

Are you registered anywhere?
No.
If you feel you must get us something, consider a homemade gift, thoughtful token or even donations to a charity in our name.

Why are you doing this in November?
Good Question.
The middle of November is our 12 year anniversary, plus it's after the NYC marathon.

Can we sleep on your couch?
Most likely not.
Although we'd love to house all those traveling, we live in NYC and long for a full size fridge. Check out the accomidation section below for our advice on where to stay.

Location

The party is at Tuffet.

286 Graham Avenue, Brooklyn.

Where to Stay

Are you traveling to the Brooklyn area to be celebrate with us? Perhaps you need a place to stay? Well please don't spend 800 dollars on some overpriced Trump hotel. On the other hand, don't spend 20 bucks on a place with hourly rates. We love you and want you to be safe and not broke. Here's our recommendations on accommodations:

Perhaps you have friends other then us that live in one of the five boroughs? Then this could be the right option for you! It's also the cheapest option, unless your friend charges you 500 dollars a night and doesn't even put a mint on your pillow. If so, why are you friends? You should be more selective cause your friend is a jerk.

If you're on a really tight budget and can't come up with any new yorkers that will house you, let us know and we'll see if we can make a connection.

Call Your Friend (we don't have their number)

There aren't a lot of hotel options in our area of brooklyn, but perhaps you want to stay right near us? Or maybe you're really into renting out someone's brownstone apartment in park slope? Airbnb lets you "rent unique places to stay from local hosts" that own them. This could then be a good option for you. Plus, the phrase "I'm taking an Uber to my Airbnb for that same-sex wedding in Williamsburg." might just be the most hipster thing you'll ever say.

A hotel is an establishment that provides lodging paid on a short-term basis. Facilities provided may range from a basic bed and storage for clothing, to luxury features like en-suite bathrooms. Larger hotels may provide additional guest facilities such as a swimming pool, business center, childcare, conference facilities and social function services. Hotel rooms are usually numbered (or named in some smaller hotels and B&Bs) to allow guests to identify their room.

That's from wikipedia, but here's our list of hotels that are reasonably rated (for nyc) and in convenient and safe neighborhoods:
